Although many college students rarely think about staying
healthy, it can help them feel happy and stay focused and
increase their grades.
Here are some easy tips college students to follow to keep them
successful.
Watch out for the energy drinks. They can be a great help on
occasion when studying for an exam but the recommended
daily intake of caffeine that is acceptable is 300 mg.
Rest up! You have to have balance in your life, even if you are a
college student. Late night party once in a while, okay, but
make sure you balance the rest of the week. Get to bed at a
decent time and try to make it consistent. You will be more
energized during the day and able to focus more clearly.
Exercise - Many campuses have their own gym, take advantage
of it. Also walk to class and take stairs when you can. Exercise
helps get your endorphins moving around and makes you feel
better and happier.
Eyestrain - More and more of us are on our computers for many
hours daily. Make sure you take some time away from it. If you
need to be on your computer for any length of time, make sure
you take your eyes off the screen and look into the distance keep
your eyes focused.
Food tips:
Stock up on water bottles to keep in your dorm and keep
hydrated.
Check out the cafeterias healthy selections and make a point to
get fresh fruit and vegetables in daily.
We know Ramen noodles are the college go-to food, here are
some tips for making them a little more nutritious if you must
have them:
Use only 1/2 the packet of seasoning - thats a day's worth of
sodium.
Keep some pre-grilled, pre-packaged diced chicken or tofu in
your dorm refrigerator and throw add to your noodles.
Add a cup of frozen mixed vegetables to the cup before you
microwave.
